10 days in Lincoln…

Hello from Lincoln

We’ve been hosting Njeri, Omar, Qahtan and Burhan in Lincoln and it has been wonderful to hear all about their museums in Kenya and Iraq.  We spent the first couple of days exploring Lincoln, having a tour around the museum at The Collection, also Lincoln Castle and the museum’s Archaeology Stores.

Later in the week we went further afield to Stamford, looking at an example of a small town museum and then contrasting that with the magnificent Elizabethan stately home at Burghley House.  We had fun in the water gardens after a picnic on the lawn!  The weather stayed fine that day luckily.

We’ve also spent time at our conservation department, and found out about loans boxes for schools, documentation and photography.  The time has just flown by as everyone left today.
